On October 9, 2024, the IX All-Ukranian Scientific Conference of young scientists Exploring Linguistics, Literature, and Intercultural Communication (ELLIC-2024) was held, which was organized this year by the Department of German Philology of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
The target audience of the conference, started 10 years ago, was young researchers, mostly students of Ukrainian universities (about 100 participants in total).
Valentyna Yakubiv, First Vice-Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, addressed a welcoming speech to the conference participants, emphasizing that even in such difficult time young scholars continue to show interest in researching current issues of modern philology in Ukraine and the world.
Nataliia Yatskiv, Dean of Faculty of Foreign Languages, emphasized that although most of the reports are related to cognitive and semantic dimension of linguistic researches and translation traditions, they still resonate with the educational programs that operate in the departments of the faculty at the master’s level of education: linguistic, literature and translation studies.
Summing up the conference, Head of the Department of German Philology, Andrii Venhrynovych noted that the attempt of the department’s master students Oleh Blyskun to make a comparative analysis of military neologisms based on the sources of two Germanic languages: German and English was quite interesting. He also wished all the participants further success.
