From 4 to 12 November 2024, Associate Professors Svitlana Lypka and Nataliia Koroliova of the German Philology Department of the Foreign Languages Faculty took part in an international internship Staff Mobility for Training (ERASMUS+) at the Institute of Linguistic / Germanistic (Institut für Linguistik / Germanistik) at the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
As part of the programme, the participants attended many lectures and seminars on literature („Einführung in die Neuere Deutsche Literaturwissenschaft“, Herr Apl. Prof. Dr. Claus Zittel; „Romane von heute: Die Shortlist des Deutschen Buchpreises 2024“, Prof. Dr. Torsten Hoffmann; „1200. Die Gleichzeitigkeit des Ungleichzeitigen in der deutschen Literaturgeschichte des Mittelalters “, Frau Dr. Stephanie Seidl) and linguistic disciplines (Einführung in die Linguistik, Prof. Dr. Daniel Hole; Pragmatik, Fabian Dirscherl; Multilingualismus – multiperspektivisch “, Frau Dr. Britta Sauereisen; Varietäten des Deutschen, apl. Prof. Dr. Ellen Brandner; Online-Vorlesung im Rahmen von Ukraine digital (Prof. Dr. Jürgen Pafel)), where they learned about teaching methods and technologies at a European university and participated in discussions and debates on projects presented by students of the courses. In addition, the meeting with the Director of the Language Centre of the University of Stuttgart Martina Widon (Fr. Martina Widon), brought an unforgettable impression and beneficial experience, during the practical classes she gave, our associate professors learned about the peculiarities of teaching the theoretical foundations of the methodology of teaching German as a first and second foreign language.
It was very pleasant to meet Oleksandra Ivantsiv, a student of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (group SEG-22, study programme “Secondary Education (German Language and Literature)”). She is studying this semester under the international academic mobility programme Erasmus+ at the University of Stuttgart and enthusiastically shared her impressions of studying in Germany.
Precious were the discussions and exchanges of experience with the coordinators of the educational programs, Dr Yvonne Zimmermann (Educational programme “Germanistics. Secondary Education” Studiengangsmanagement Germanistik / Lehramt Deutsch) and Prof. Dr Fabian Dirscherl (Educational programme “Linguistics” Studiengangsmanagement Linguistik). During the meetings with the guarantors of the educational programmes, the project participants had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the peculiarities of organising the educational process in similar educational programmes at the University of Stuttgart, share their experience regarding the structure and content of the programmes, discuss the challenges and difficulties in the system of higher education functioning during martial law, and outline scientific, educational and international opportunities for further cooperation between Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and the University of Stuttgart.
